The Knoxville Boys and Girls Track and Field Squads had their first preseason competitions with the Little Hawkeye Conference indoor at Grinnell College last night. The boys showed they could be one of the better teams in the L-H-C this season with first place medals going to Wick Cunningham in the mile, and the medley relay team of Colton Spaur, Bryce Zoutte, Ryan Douglass, and Jacob Moats. Runner-up finishes included Tanner Dukin in the 60 and 200 meters…plus the shuttle hurdle relay team also was second. On the girls side, Cheyenne Jones, who was a state qualifier last year in the shot put picked up where she left off with a second place. Other finishers were: Rikki Hall third in the long jump, distance medley was fifth and Kaeline Schuenke (SHEN-key) also was fifth in the 800. No team scores were kept.
