Looking to break their spell of cabin fever, the Pella High girls’ soccer team will try to hit the pitch tonight for some inter-squad games. Head coach, Mark Howard tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that they will be playing two 20-minute games to hopefully get the kinks out. The ninth graders will face the tenth graders, and the juniors will face-off against the seniors in the pre-season scrimmages. Getting to state last year but losing in the first round, Howard says that after overpowering the competition during the regular season, he wants to see his team take this 2013 spring campaign one day at a time. Tonight’s sneak peek at the Lady Dutch soccer team, weather permitting, will be at 6:00 p.m. Howard also said that he will make the call by noon today if this evening’s festivities will be cancelled or not.
