Knoxville residents have a chance to catch up with their local legislators Friday afternoon. Representative Greg Heartsill and Senator Amy Sinclair will be at the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce from 4-5pm Friday for their monthly Legislative coffee session. Constituents are welcome to hear the reports of the legislators as well as ask their own questions. Sinclair tells KNIA/KRLS News that she was disappointed with the pace of the first part of the session. She thinks part of that is attributed to veteran lawmakers who know controversial issues will not get through the divided legislature. Sinclair also notes, though, that there’s such a sharp focus on education reform and property tax reform. That may have led to less focus on other issues.
