The United States Census Bureau released new numbers last week regarding Iowa’s population. Overall, Marion County has grown by an estimated 110 people from April 2010-July 2012, which is a growth rate of 0.3%. Marion County remains the 22nd most populated county in the state, and is one of just 31 counties that grew in population. Overall, the state of Iowa has added almost 5400 residents since the 2010 census. Around 89 percent of the growth has occurred in seven metro counties.
