Starting his first tenure as a coach, Jesse DeGeest, the Twin Cedars’ girls’ track coach, is facing some adversity early in the year. Normally having participation numbers in the 20’s and 30’s, DeGeest said this year, there were 11 girls that came to the preseason meeting for this season. Despite this, the rookie coach told KNIA/KRLS Sports that he hopes to continue the success that Twin Cedars’ girls’ track has had in recent years. DeGeest says hopefully practices will bring in more numbers, but at the moment, he does have a lot of great athletes returning that have been with the program for several years. Sabers’ track will start practice next week.
