Both the boys’ and girls’ track teams at PCM have new faces in the coaching position this season. The Mustangs’ boys have Athletic Director and head football coach, Greg Bonnett at the helm, while the PCM girls will be coached by a former Mustang, Bridget Burns. The rookie head coach said that her goals for the team this season are pretty straight forward.
“For this year, I’m hoping to just get a lot of numbers out,” Burns said. “We do have some higher numbers than in years past. I’m hoping to, with the numbers, maybe increase where we place in meets. The more numbers you have, the more points you can get. The goal is always to win meets; looking in the conference, do well at conference and end at the ‘blue track.’”
Burns also said that they have just a small handful of seniors returning this season and several underclassmen, and she’s looking forward to their first meet this Monday in Ames at their indoor invitational. That meet gets underway at 4:30 p.m.
