Learning a lot in his first year as head coach of the Pella High girls’ golf team, Wade Van Vark is looking forward to what is ahead this spring for his ladies. After a trial by fire for most of his team last season, Van Vark has six seniors this year, and some freshman that also possess a lot of skill. Furthermore, the Lady Dutch head coach said that entering this 2013 season, his girls will have a positive outlook and approach to all of their practices and meets. Van Vark added that his group of girls enjoy being around one another and have fun together. He also said that if his athletes can enjoy the sport and enjoy the time spent at meets, his team will be successful, regardless of the scores they post. The Pella girls’ golf team will head to Newton on April 4 to begin their regular season.
