Slick Conditions this Morning–Sheriff’s Office Urges Caution

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office reports that area roadways are up to 100% snow covered and may be slick. The State Patrol reports that much of the state south of I-80 is completely covered with snow. Two inches of snow have fallen in the county as of 6AM. A tow ban is in effect for Marion County.

KNIA/KRLS is receiving reports of vehicles in ditches, including a jack-knifed semi on Highway 163. State plows are in operation. County plows begin operation at 7AM.

The Sheriff’s Office urges caution if you must drive this morning. Take plenty of time to get to your destination, and give our road crews and first responders plenty of room to work.
