With six teams finishing with above .500 records in the Heart of Iowa Conference, PCM head boys’ basketball coach, Fred Lorensen was ecstatic with how his guys played in the league. Lorensen said that one of his season goals is to win the conference, and they were able to overcome an early loss to Nevada to win an outright league title. The Mustangs’ coach also told KNIA/KRLS Sports that after losing a good chunk of last year’s state tournament team, the fact that his squad went 21 – 2 is something all of his players should hold their heads up about. PCM lead the Heart of Iowa Conference in field goal percentage, fewest points allowed, and in point differential; outscoring their opponents by an average of almost 14 points per game.
