Tallying just one win on the season, the Pleasantville girls’ basketball team fought hard throughout their schedule, despite the large odds that were stacked against them each game. Head coach, Aaron Fichter said his girls’ kept their competitive spirit in them, and towards the end of the season, was approached by an opposing coach who confirmed exactly that.
“Really, the girls kept that unity all year,” Fichter said. “Talking to Southeast Warren’s coach the other day, and that was one comment he made because that was our final regular season game, and that was one thing that he said is that some of the girls thought maybe you might fold a little bit if we got up on you. He just said that your girls fought hard.”
Fichter added that though the effort was there, they were and are still trying to develop the girls’ skill-wise and strength-wise. The Trojans’ coach said he already looks forward to getting next season underway.
