Both Central baseball and softball teams have had success recently, and they are looking for the good times to keep rolling. The Dutch baseball squad are coming off a four-game sweep of Iowa Conference rival Dubuque over the weekend and have won their last five, and today are playing rival Simpson. Coach Adam Stevens says that despite Simpson’s pitching perhaps being a bit down this year, the Central – Simpson rivalry will bring out the best in both teams. Their doubleheader gets underway at 3:30 p.m. today. Meanwhile, the softball women will once again try and play a home game for the first time this season. Buena Vista is scheduled to come to town, as is the rain, and they are set for first pitch at 3:00 p.m.
