The Pella Christian girls’ tennis team has played a lot of extra soccer as of late, with one game going their way and another not. The Eagles dropped their contest to Chariton on Monday when the Chargers scored with almost two minutes left in the second overtime. Most teams would be deflated by that, but the Eagles showed their tenacity the very next night against Oskaloosa when the girls were faced with the same predicament, but held true to force the game to penalty kicks; which they won to take the game from the Indians. Coach Bill Collman said that there’s a lot more to appreciate about their last few games than just winning the shootout and playing several overtimes. The 2 – 6 Eagles will next be in action Monday at home against South Tama.
