Drought Continues to Subside in Iowa

A steady dose of rain has helped eliminate more of the drought that hit Iowa this past summer. Almost 35% of the state has returned to normal, with only a small portion of Marion County still listed as abnormally dry. The extreme drought in the northwest part of the state has nearly vanished, with only 1.5% of the state now carrying that designation, down from 20% last week. Wednesday and Thursday’s precipitation were not counted in this drought monitor.
