Several opportunities were not converted for the Pella Christian girls’ soccer team on Thursday, as they were defeated by North Polk, 2 – 0. The game was scoreless at the half, and Coach Bill Collman was very happy with how his girls were controlling the pace of the game. A fluke goal early in the second half that went in off an Eagles’ player sparked the Comets’ offense as they were able to score again later in the half. Collman said that there was noticeable improvement in last night’s game over Tuesday’s match. Pella Christian’s girls are 0 – 2 to begin the year, and will be participating in a tournament on Saturday in Fairfield. The ladies will be playing three games overall.
