It was a successful afternoon for first year head coach, Danielle Stubbs and her Pella Christian girls’ tennis team, as they beat conference rival Oskaloosa 10 – 1 on Thursday. The Eagles swept the singles matches and their only loss was in number five doubles, who still put up a fight, dropping the contest 6 – 3 and 6 – 4. After the meet, Coach Stubbs said that her team’s ability to place the ball in the right spots was what led to their success. The Eagles are 1 – 0 to star the year and will be in a tournament on Saturday, weather permitting, facing some very tough and bigger schools, including Valley and Johnston.
