Newton is playing host to a meet involving the Pella High girls’ golfers today. After surprising a lot of people with their talent last year, Coach Wade Van Vark’s girls return this year with more expectations than they had last year. Last season was also Van Vark’s first full season as head coach, and he says he learned a lot about being a coach rather than being an actual golfer. The Lady Dutch will tee off in Newton at 4:15 p.m. today.
