Four girls’ high school soccer teams will be taking to the pitch at Pella Stadium today, as the Lady Dutch will be hosting a mini-tournament this morning. Pella was originally supposed to be playing in Nevada, but due to their field conditions after this week’s rains, that was cancelled and today’s action was scheduled to replace it. At 5 – 1, Coach Mark Howard says that his girls have been playing strong despite the number of injuries that have affected the team so far. The Lady Dutch will begin play with Gilbert first, with Union and Des Moines Roosevelt facing off in the next game. The winners and losers of each of those contests play against each other to end the day. Everything is scheduled to get started at 11:00 a.m.
