The Pella High girls’ tennis team will be starting their back-and-forth action on the courts Monday when they travel to Marshalltown for their first meet of the season. Head coach, Tiffany Rohe, with numbers up on her squad this year, is looking to see how her starters perform in meet number one and is looking forward to the competition that Marshalltown brings to the table. Rohe says that she personally doesn’t know much about Marshalltown, but she says it will be a great start to the season as it will be a team that is somewhat “new” to her girls since they did not play them last year. Rohe also says that it’s sometimes better to just jump right in and play someone without any expectations of what you’re going to get, because it helps settle the nerves and helps you play a better match. The Lady Dutch coach added that she is just looking for some good tennis to be played and for her ladies to show that they know what to do in different situations throughout the matches. The Pella High girls’ tennis team begins play at Marshalltown at 4:00 p.m.
