No pun intended, but the rain put a damper on things in Monroe Monday night, as the PCM track meet got cancelled after the 800 meter run. Unofficially, Abbi Gilson and Lexi Kain for the Mustangs were first in the discus and 100, respectively, and PCM’s shuttle hurdle relay team finished second. For Twin Cedars’ girls, who were also in attendance, MaKenzie McCarty was second in the shot put, and Ayla Crosby was third in the 100. PCM head coach, Bridget Burns tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that despite the fact that Mother Nature hasn’t been kind this year, what she saw out of her girls last night, makes the future look very promising. The Mustangs will next race at the Drake Relays later this week, while Twin Cedars will race at Pella this Thursday.
