Mustangs’ boys and girls were swinging the clubs well on Monday, as each golf team at PCM won their meet. Beating eight other schools, the PCM boys’ golf team came away with a win at their meet in the Bondurant Invite, defeating second place Pella by just six strokes. Both Hunter Van Veen of PCM and Sean Rennick of Pella shot an even par score of 35, but it was Van Veen that won the playoff thanks to a 25 foot birdie putt to earn medalist honors on the afternoon. Ryan Jennings and Justin Beener each shot 37 for the next two low scores for the Mustangs, who have now won five Bondurant Invites in a row, and will face Pella once again on Thursday at Bos Landen for another meet. The girls also had a great night at the Albia meet, winning by 13 strokes over the host school 194 – 207. Cassidy Van Veen was medalist on the night with a nine-hole round of 46. PCM’s girls are right back at it today at Pleasantville.
