Only three points separated second from fourth place on Tuesday at Eddyville-Blakesburg’s girls’ track invitational, and the Pella Christian squad came in fourth place with a total of 88. Davis County easily won with 162.5, while the host Rockets were second with 91. The Eagles’ had first place finishes in a pair of relay events; the 4 x 100 meter relay and the sprint medley relay. The boys were at B-G-M for a meet also last night. Top performances include a first place finish in the high and long jumps for Derek Van Kooten (Coat-in), Zach Van Zee was first in the 100 meter dash, and the 4 x 100 meter relay team came in second. With Drake Relays quickly approaching, Pella Christian will be looking to get some girls qualified at their next meet which is in Grinnell this coming Tuesday.
