Jessica Holterhaus got things started on the right foot for the Pella girls’ track team at the Drake Relays on Thursday, as she finished tenth with a personal best leap in the long jump. The sophomore member of the Lady Dutch had a jump of 16’ 9 ¾”, which earned her third place in her grouping. Holterhaus had to jump in the first group, which Coach Dak Rasmussen said, is the most difficult, as you don’t know who or what distance you have to beat. The rest of the Pella girls and boys will be in action today, save for the 4 x 800 meter relay team for the Little Dutch, which races on Saturday. PCM’s girls’ 4 x 100 meter relay and Pella Christian’s Madison Fopma in the high jump will also be competing today. Just like yesterday, keep it tuned to KNIA/KRLS and continue checking KNIAKRLS.com for up-to-the-minute updates from the Blue Oval as the results come in.
