Property Taxes Could Decrease if Legislators Reach Education Deal

A public hearing is being held next week regarding the Knoxville Community School District’s proposed budget. That budget has been prepared with zero percent allowable growth – but that could still change, depending on legislative action with education reform. Superintendent Dr. Randy Flack says the property tax levy is already going to be a dollar and a quarter lower due to the high school coming off of debt service, but it could decrease more if legislators act increase allowable growth from zero.
