A short list of candidates has been chosen for the open police officer position in Pella. Over 20 candidates participated in the physical, written, and interview test last month. 3 candidates passed the test and were chosen by the civil service board. Mathew Catrenich of Indianola, Bryan Llewellyn of Indianola, and Thomas Kucala of Chaplin, Minnesota, will have to pass more tests on the state level before they can be chosen. Police Chief Robert Bokinsky says that they hope to have the new officer on the streets by Tulip Time.
