Prairie City Police Chief Louis Modlin tells KNIA/KRLS News that this morning at approximately 9:50 a.m. a written bomb threat was located by a Prairie City-Monroe (PCM) middle school student and turned over to staff members.
PCM staff followed the emergency plan and safely removed students from the building.
Students from both PCM Middle School and the Prairie City Elementary were safely removed from the buildings according to the safety plan procedure.
Law enforcement was notified and officers from the Prairie City Police Department, Baxter Police Department, DOT Motor Vehicle Enforcement and Jasper County Sheriff’s Office searched the building and found no dangerous device. A criminal investigation is ongoing.
