Central’s track teams will be represented by five athletes at the NCAA Division III outdoor track and field championships starting tomorrow and lasting until Saturday. The men do have some high hopes entering tomorrow’s day one action, as they are ranked 11th according to the most recent poll from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. Eric Larson, the winner of the national indoor championship in the decathlon, will be trying to add an outdoor title to his résumé. Sophomore Eli Horton has the top spot in the 5,000 meter run with a time of just over 14:12, and will also be running the 1,500 meters. Cole Decker will be the only freshman in the field for the 10,000 meters competing, and has the seventh best qualifying time entering competition. Josh Fleming rounds up the men’s entries for the Dutch, as he’ll be throwing the discus. Felicia Coleman, one of greatest women’s track stars to come out of Central in recent years, will wrap up her college track career running in both the 100 meter and 200 meter dash events.
