Class 3A State Track Meet Preview

Pella and Knoxville have flexed their collective muscles during this 2013 spring season, and their hard work paid off, as a total of 42 events between the two schools were able to move on to compete at Drake Stadium starting this afternoon in Des Moines for the Class 3A state track meet. Pella’s boys’ and girls’ track teams combined for 29 events, with the Panthers’ boys qualifying a lucky 13 competitions. Both the Little Dutch and Panthers’ boys will run in the 100, 200, and 400 meter dashes; the 800, 1600 and 3200 meters; the 110 and 400 meter hurdles, and in practically all of the relay events. The Lady Dutch will participate in the 400 meter dash, 400 meter hurdles, the 4 x 100, 200, and 400 meter hurdles, sprint medley relay, high jump, long jump, discus and the distance medley relay.
