Placing second to Maharishi at their home invite a few weeks ago, the Pella boys’ tennis team is preparing to perhaps eventually face them again at the state tournament. They have to get there first, which is why Coach Nick Seipel is encouraging them to stay focused and clean up the mechanics of their game. Seipel says his guys are trying to be more controlled with their shots and are not trying to overpower the ball. The Little Dutch have a pair of huge tournaments coming up next week. First, on Monday, the boys will take part in the Little Hawkeye Conference tourney at Norwalk, then will turn around and play in the district tournament on Thursday.
