Pella Christian and PCM had some decent showings in day number two of their respective Class 2A State Track Meets. Abbi Gilson threw for just over 113 feet in the discus to place 13th, while Derek Van Kooten cleared six feet in the high jump to place 15th. Van Kooten’s counterpart in the high jump, Madison Fopma for the Eagles’ girls, cleared her season high once again of 5’2” and came in third place overall to end up on the medal stand. Other results include Hunter Reed for the Mustangs’ boys coming in seventh in his heat of the 110 meter hurdles, and Ethan Kain was fifth in the same heat, but neither could qualify their time for the finals later today.
