The Class 2A site for the Pella Christian and PCM track teams to qualify for state is at Eddyville-Blakesburg this year. Both schools have had very unique years; from Eagles’ coaches Kevin Herdegen and Keith Anderson dealing with an influx of youth to a pair of first year head coaches at PCM in Greg Bonnett and Bridget Burns, each team has accomplished several positive things this season, and all hope the season doesn’t come to an end this afternoon. Coach Herdegen says his girls aren’t taking the meet lightly; that all of his athletes are taking a few extra moments to be ready to go when their event is called to the track. Coach Burns for the PCM girls said that she has high hopes out of her girls for this afternoon. The top two automatically go to Drake Stadium for the state meet, while the rest of the field will have to wait and see if they are one of the next eight best. The Class 2A state qualifying meet for the Eagles and Mustangs starts at 4:00 p.m.
