Friday’s win over Winterset by the Knoxville Baseball Squad showed the coaching staff how far the players have come over a year. The Panthers went extra innings to beat the Huskies 8-4, and what impressed Head Coach Joel Johnson was the level of maturity the guys had. He added they did not panic when they got down in the late innings and found a way to tie the game and force extra innings. Johnson says there still may be night where they guys will struggle to get going, but he is confident that those nights will be fewer than last season. Knoxville’s double-header with Van Meter last night was cancelled due to rain, so the Panthers have a chance to start three-and-oh with two wins Tuesday night at Bondurant-Farrar.
