If the weather holds, and that is a big “if.” The Knoxville Boys Soccer Squad will host North Polk at Ken Locke Stadium. The Panthers have lost their last three matches two of which were against Little Hawkeye Conference powers Norwalk and most recently Tuesday night against Pella. The loss slipped the Panthers to under 500 at 5-6. Coach Dylan Mick says while the goal was the beat both Norwalk and Pella, the guys seem to have gained some amount of confidence playing those teams close. Mick says even just playing those teams win or lose will make his guys better down, especially if they would hook up in the postseason. North Polk is 4-4 on the season with wins over Pella Christian, Des Moines Christian, A-D-M, and Oskaloosa while loses have come against Southeast Polk, Nevada, Webster City and Boone. Fans are reminded that this will be varsity first starting at 5:30 at Ken Locke Stadium. The girls will travel to North Polk tonight in a varsity only match that starts at 5:30.
