Last week, Knoxville Runner Wick Cunningham broke a 40 year old Knoxville School Record in the mile. What made it even more memorable was that it was at the Drake Relays, and the person that held the record got to see him break it. Knoxville Athletic Director Randy Wilson was working as a clerk at the Relays, but paused form his responsibilities to watch Cunningham run the mile. Cunningham said as he was starting the final lap, he was more concerned about placing than setting a record and did not realize what he had done until after the race was over. Cunningham finished fifth in the mile. He and the rest of the Knoxville Boys Track Squad will run in one more meet Monday at Pella, then focus on the State Qualifying Meet Thursday at Winterset.
