The Knoxville Girls Tennis Squad already on their way to the class 1A team regional finals will try to get a few individuals to the state meet as well today as the Panthers join seven other teams at the Class one-A Individual District at Pella Christian. No points will be kept, this is strictly players playing as individuals in singles and doubles competitions. Knoxville will try to get a player to state for the first time since 2009 when Evan Tonda qualified in singles competition. Coach Nick DeMoss says if his girls play like they are capable of, they could get a singles and a doubles team to state. Knoxville is being joined today by Pella, Pella Christian, Albia, Centerville, Davis County, Fairfield, and Oskaloosa. The top two finishers in singles and doubles will advance to the state meet at the Prairie Ridge Sports Complex in Ankeny May 30th and 31st.
