The Knoxville School Board gave final approval for purchasing new security systems for their buildings over the summer during their regular meeting yesterday. The new buzz-in systems help control and monitor those entering the building, something that staff members told administrators was a step in the right direction. Administrators also told board members about their ALICE active shooter training workshops, saying it was an eye-opening and worthwhile experience that they’d possibly like to expand on.
