The Pella High softball team split a pair of games with Lynnville-Sully yesterday. Pella took game one 6 – 3. Bri Arkema pitched a complete game and gave up six hits and struck out five while walking one. The Lady Dutch racked up eight hits, with two apiece coming from Morgan Ernst and Arkema. The Pella girls couldn’t quite hold on in game two, dropping the nightcap 4 – 3. Freshman Elyse Sadler took the loss on the mound, giving up seven hits and striking out six batters. Diana Zabrodova had two hits, and Ernst, Arkema, Lexi McGinley and Alli Dingeman each also had a hit, as Pella’s record currently sits at 1 – 2. The Lady Dutch will be playing in a tournament at Centerville tomorrow, facing a wide variety of teams.
