download [1]

Heavy rains upstream have caused Lake Red Rock to rise. The water has risen to more than 755 feet, which is 13 feet higher than normal. As the water rises, roads upstream may be impacted and even shut down. The Corps of Engineers at Lake Red Rock forecast that the lake will reach its peak at almost 766 feet on June 6. The last time water was at normal level was March 10. Jasper and Mahaska Counties have both been declared a disaster area. The record high for Lake Red Rock is almost 783 feet, set in 1993.
