Pella, Pella Christian, Knoxville, and PCM enjoyed a golf course in great shape and some excellent competition on Monday. It was PCM that prevailed with a score of 329, Pella came in second with a 339, and Grinnell was third, just a stroke behind, with a 340. The Eagles weren’t too far off, coming in seventh and shooting 358 as a team, and Knoxville was 13th with their round of 378. Individually, Hunter Van Veen was the low score of the afternoon and his five-over round of 77. Devon Woody was second best for the Mustangs with a score of 84. Sean Rennich was tops for the Little Dutch, shooting an 82, and Corey Elliott was right there with him with his round of 83. Mitch Fopma found himself in this mix, too, shooting 84, next in line was his teammate, Mason Howerzyl, who carded an 89. Knoxville had a couple nice showings individually, with Wyatt Carter at only 10-over with an 82, and Skyler Cunningham scoring a 96. This was the last meet of the year for Knoxville, Pella and Pella Christian’s boys; PCM will golf in the district tournament to get to state on Thursday at Lake Panorama.
