Pella, Pella Christian and Knoxville’s tennis teams will be fighting for a Little Hawkeye Conference crown Monday when they take to the courts for the conference meet. Each team has made significant strides over the course of the year, and with regionals and districts just around the corner, each team is looking to get a better seed for their respective tournament later in the week. Little Dutch head coach, Nick Seipel, said that for the Monday meet in Norwalk, they will be trying to work the kinks out of their top two doubles teams and some of the singles players. Seipel mentioned in particular the teams of David Lapthorn – Jamison Roozeboom; and Tom Palmer – Aaron Van Maanen; Seipel wants to see both of these teams come together and gel in time to qualify for state. Continuity and chemistry were also two words Seipel used that he’s looking to see out of his Little Dutch this week. The boys’ meet at Norwalk on Monday starts at 10:00 a.m., as does the girls’ conference meet at Caldwell Park in Pella.
