Very competitive and fun tennis was had on Tuesday in Newton, but it was the Lady Cardinals that prevailed over Pella Christian, 7 – 4. Things started rough for the Eagles, as they dropped four of the six singles’ matches. Pella Christian got to within 5 – 4 with a pair of doubles matches at number one and three, but dropped the last two to fall in the dual. Coach Danielle Stubbs told KNIA/KRLS Sports that her girls played their hearts out and never gave up against a strong team. The Eagles have a chance at redemption this Monday with the Little Hawkeye Conference meet at Pella High School.
