Bos Landen played host to the Class 2A boys’ sectional golf tournament on Friday, and PCM flexed their collective muscles as they have done all season and came away with a first place finish to advance to districts. The Mustangs shot a 337, and were led by Hunter Van Veen and Devon Woody who each shot an 82 which was the low score on the day. Woody did beat his teammate in a one-hole playoff to earn medalist honors. Coach Mike Smith said that his guys enjoyed themselves during the playoff. Des Moines Christian was second with a 354, and Pella Christian came up just four strokes short, shooting a 358. Justin Stravers was the Eagles’ low scorer by carding an 86, and his teammate, Mason Howerzyl was right behind him with an 87. For PCM, their postseason continues to Thursday, when they head to Lake Panorama Golf Course for the state qualifying district meet. However, for both the Mustangs and the Eagles, they will still both golf at the 20-team Pella Christian invitational at Bos Landen this Monday. A full list of results can be found below.
