Much like Pella Christian, the PCM girls’ track and field team will be focused on tuning their mechanics up before a big week lies in front of them. It all starts with the hand-offs during the relays. Coach Bridget Burns told KNIA/KRLS Sports that a drop in the baton at Drake Relays during the 4 x 100 meter relay that her team was involved in, cost them quite a few seconds. Burns attests the rustiness to a unique and bazaar season with all of the cancellations and terrible weather. Burns added that she’s very lucky to be able to have several different options with all of the different relays, and she’s also trying to figure out who’s going to go where, and that the Heart of Iowa Conference meet on Monday will be used to maybe answer some of those questions. This year’s meet is at Roland-Story, and all of the co-ed action gets going at 4:00 p.m.
