Play Ball! Knoxville Baseball Season Gets Underway Tonight

The Knoxville Baseball Squad will open up the 2013 season tonight at Winterset. The Panthers were very young last year from a team that went 8-26. Pitching will also be very inexperienced this season, and Coach Joel Johnson says Bryce Zoutte has the most experience on the mound however, Ross Shelford, and Kevin Woodhouse are not as experienced. Johnson says there are no seniors on this year’s team. With that, he hopes this team will be a group of leaders. Johnson is confident the defense will be improved this season and hopes the team can cut in half the 115 team errors made last year. You can hear the call on AM 1320 KNIA and streamed live on kniakrls.com with Derek Cardwell and Marcus Johnson beginning with the pre-game show at 7:15.
