A Pleasantville woman was arrested over the weekend after witnesses’ claim she struck one man with a pickup truck and attempted to run over more. According to court documents, 43-year-old Theresa Schmidt got into a physical altercation in rural Pleasantville on Saturday. Schmidt then allegedly got into her pickup truck and attempted to run down the group gathered at the location. She’s believed to have struck one man in the legs, knocking him into a golf cart where he sustained further injuries, before fleeing in the truck. Officers on scene took note of several acceleration marks at the location.
Schmidt later allegedly called 911, where she told officers that she was involved in an assault but had no recollections of her actions while in the truck. She’s charged with leaving the scene of an accident with injury and assault with intent to do injury. Schmidt will appear next in court on May 28th.
