Same score, two different results for the Twin Cedars’ softball team on Saturday during their own tournament in Bussey. The Sabers’ ladies began the day with a 6 – 2 win against Cardinal of Eldon. The score was 1 – 0 in favor of the visitors through four innings, but a five-run fifth put Twin Cedars on top for good. Shelby Hall, Alee Hugen and Brittney Roby all picked up two hits, while Roby gutted through six innings of work, only giving up two runs, three hits, and striking out nine. The Sabers unfortunately couldn’t complete the sweep on the day, falling to Keokuk 6 – 2. Bailey Stone went 2-for-3 at the plate, and the Sabers as a team were held to just seven hits on the game. The Sabers’ girls are now 19 – 7 on the year, and they will play at Grandview Park Baptist for a big game later today.
