Decathlete and national champion, Eric Larson has found himself on the receiving end of yet another honor. This time, the Dutch track star has been named to the Capital One Academic All-America Division III men’s track and field/cross country team, which is selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America. To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must be on the varsity team, be at least a sophomore, and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher. Larson’s GPA is 3.34 as he is pursuing a major in economics, and he recorded six personal bests at the national stage during his championship run during the outdoor tournament this past May. Larson is the 50th student-athlete from Central to receive an academic all-American designation.
