Marion County and Missouri River Energy Services are close to finalizing an agreement regarding the Red Rock Hydroelectric Project. County Engineer Roger Schletzbaum and County Attorney Ed Bull discussed the details with the Board of Supervisors during a special session Monday morning. Schletzbaum said that the agreement was workable in its current form; the next step is for Bull to review the legal aspects of it. The contract deals with, among other things, compensation for the extra deterioration of the county roads, traffic plans, and liability.
Schletzbaum added that T-15 over the dam will have to be shut down for around three months, but other options like T-17 would help alleviate traffic issues. The Supervisors will continue to review the process and may soon take up a final contract for approval.
