If you stop out at the Knoxville Raceway this weekend, you may feel like you’ve stepped back in time. Weekend activities begin tonight at the Raceway with Nostalgia at Knoxville. Vintage cars from the early days of dirt track racing will be back on the half-mile for an exhibition competition. Tickets are $5 for adults and free for those 19 and under.
Tomorrow, five people will be inducted into the Knoxville Raceway Hall of Fame, including longtime Race Director Ralph Capitani. An open house will be held for the inductees from 5-to-7pm at the Bingley Building. They’ll also be honored during intermission at the Races.
Finally, it is Mid-Season Championships night at Knoxville Raceway. Pre-race coverage starts at 5:30 on KNIA/KRLS and streaming live on kniakrls.com; race coverage starts at 7:30.
