The Knoxville Baseball Squad took a couple of losses to class four-A C-I-M-L team Ames last night in a varsity double header. The first game the Little Cyclones won 15-4 in five innings. Ross Shelford took the loss for the Panthers. Shelford had an R-B-I to help his cause, Kevin Woodhouse had two R-B-I, and Kaden Loscher batted in a run. In game two, it was more of the same from Ames as the Little Cyclones jumped on the Panthers early with a couple of runs in the in the first inning, but Knoxville came back in the second tow pull ahead 3-2. Ames would then score four in the third inning, two each in the fourth and fifth, and one more in the sixth for an 11-4 win. Kevin Woodhouse would take the loss for the Panthers going three innings giving up six runs on five hits, one walk, and four strikeouts. Nolan Wallace pitched the last four innings in relief. Coach Joel Johnson tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the rest of the week will put a lot of pressure on his team, but he thinks they are ready for it. The Panthers travel to Chariton today, the varsity will play first at four due to the fact that Chariton does not have lights at the baseball field.
