It seems like a long time ago that the Knoxville Baseball Squad last played. May 24th was the season opener against Winterset in which the Panthers won in eight innings eight-to-four. Since then, the Panthers have lost five games due to the weather. Tonight, hopefully, Knoxville will finally play a game or even two as Knoxville rescheduled its home opener with Ames from Thursday night to tonight as a varsity double header starting at five. Coach Joel Johnson says he has had to adjust practices with the wet weather, and his pitchers have been working hard to face what hopes to be a busy couple of weeks. The Panthers are scheduled to play five games this week starting with two games against Ames today, Chariton on Tuesday, Des Moines Christian on Wednesday, and Newton on Friday.
